IPO-Porto is the largest specialised Portuguese cancer centre (10,000 new patients per year) dedicated to patient care, training, and research in oncology. As part of the OECI-certified consortium Porto Comprehensive Cancer Center (PCCC), IPO-Porto integrates a collaborative network of 24 research groups. CI-IPOP, together with other three R&D units—CINTESIS and UnIC, hosted at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), and CCUL, hosted at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon (FMUL)—is also part of RISE, the first large Associate Laboratory dedicated to clinical and translational research in Portugal. Among others, IMAGE and CAGED are studies dedicated to delivering a platform for non-invasive and optimisation of screening and diagnosis of individuals with gastric cancer.
